Former VC of Gujarat Vidyapeeth, ex-director of GIDR and Centre for Social Studies, Surat.Well known for his work with tribals and marginalized communities and has multiple publications and working papers to his credit.

Mr. Yugandhar Mandvekar

Mr. Yugandhar Mandvekar has two decades of experience in the field of land and water management and community based Natural Resources Management. He has designed multiple pioneering watershed projects in the country. Mr. Mandvekar holds a master’s degree in management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and B.Tech from Punjabrao Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola.

A strong community mobilizer, organizer and trainer, she has 23 years of experience in strengthening the local community on gender perspectives, and built CBOs to manage natural resource, strengthen traditional livelihoods. She has made significant contribution to resolves issues of water scarcity. She holds a B.SC. degree in Math from Gujarat University, Bachelor of Education and a PGDEE (Post graduate Diploma in Ecology and Environment, Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment, Delhi).

Gagan Sethi

Mr. Gagan Sethi

Mr. Gagan Sethi is the founder of Janvikas, an NGO whose programmes lead to the establishment of Sahjeevan, an institution development expert and a human rights activist. He has played a crucial role in setting up many organizations including Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan, Drishti Media Arts and Culture, Centre for Social Justice, and ECONET. He is a revered trainer on organisational development, project planning and evaluation and co-author of two books, “Reconstructing Gender towards Collaboration” and “Right to Free Legal Aid”. Mr. Sethi has Bachelors Degree in Economics and Statistics from St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad and Masters degree in Social Work from MSU Baroda.

Mr. Sandeep Virmani

Mr. Sandeep Virmani

Mr. Sandeep Virmani, an architect by training, has been working on conservation of water, biodiversity, organic farming, renewable energy, nomads and their habitats, environment and ecology conservation for the past 25 years. He is a founding member of many organizations including Hunnarshala Foundation, Satvik, Arid Communities and Technologies and Kutch Navnirman Abhiyan. He is an ex-trustee of Gujarat Desert Ecology (GUIDE), president of Consortium for DEWATS Discrimination (CDD), promoter and vice president of ACT, founder trustee and  governing board member of Kutch Nav Nirman Abhiyan.

Mr. Kirti Khatri is a well-known in journalist and author. He is editor of Kutch Mitra, a popular daily. He was awarded the Best Editorial's award by Government of Gujarat and Kutch Shakti award for Journalism in 1996.He is author of ‘Kutch Tari Asmita’

Dr. Sabyasachi Das has served as Sahjeevan’s CEO for years and currently working with WASSAN, Hyderabad. He has extensive experience of conducting research and as a development professional. His interest areas include sustainable agriculture, Pastoralism, water & natural resource management, livelihood promotion, institution building, and policy advocacy. He is a recipient of Best Field Functionary by Indian Society for Buffalo Development and author of several publications.

Dr. Devinder Kumar Sadana

Dr. Devinder Kumar Sadana

Dr. Devinder Kumar Sadana is an eminent scientist who has an extensive research and teaching experience of 31 years. His work includes some of the most significant contributions to the arena of Characterization of defined and lesser known livestock breeds and populations of India. He has worked as principal scientist with renowned organization such as NDRI and NBAGR.He has been guiding several PhD and MSc Scholars and been a trainer at several international organizations. He is also a respected author and has several publications to his credit.

He has 15 years of experience in development sector particularly in Natural Resource Management, Pastoral Development, Livelihood and Gender issues. Pastoralism & Pastoral Life Style, Management and Conservation Issues of Commons, Livestock, Breeding and Breed Development, people’s rights on Commons. His experience and core competence lies in organizing Pastoral communities, Participatory Natural Resource Mapping, Organizing communities for organized milk collection system, Gender integration in Natural Resource Management activities; Community led processes for Breed Registration and conservation, Lobbying and advocacy at District and State level, Training and Capacity building for Community. He has been working with Pastoral communities, particularly strengthening CBOs like Banni Pashu Uchherak Maldhari Sangathan (BPUMS) and Kutch Camel breeders Association. He was actively involved in the processes undertaken for setting up dairy in Kutch. He has a BA. PGDRD, and MA in Sociology degree
