Kavita is a commerce graduate, having 30 years of experience in the development sector. Her areas of interventions covers a varied range of subjects with special focus on Natural Resource Governance and strengthening Livelihood Enterprises primarily dependent on Natural Resources. Her body of work mainly covers Water Governance in the rural as well as urban settings; deploying Renewable Energy technologies for farming and salt farming; strengthening livelihood enterprises in the areas of dryland and livestock; and Solid Waste management in urban areas. She has worked with multiple stakeholders including Civil Society Organizations; State Departments; CSR Foundations; Research and Academic Institutions; District and State Milk Federations; and community institutions to strengthen livelihood intervention s of dryland farmers; pastoralists and salt pan workers.

Ankita has a bachelor's degree in Sociology and right now she is pursuing masters in Sociology. She is currently working with the women of Banni, and helping in maximize the participation of Banni women in Conservation activities.

Mr. Nimish holds a Bachelor's in Arts and has been an integral part of Sahjeevan since 1998. Within the Central Coordination Unit, Mr. Nimish adeptly manages administrative duties, oversees human resources, and ensures the smooth functioning of governance processes.

Mr. Jayesh Paraliya has 8 years of experience with various organizations working on Environment, Livelihoods, and Natural resource management. Mr. Jayesh holds a degree of M.Phil. and a Masters in Rural Development from Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad.

Abhinav Rajan is a dedicated wildlife conservationist with extensive experience in camera trapping, carnivore occupancy studies, and avifauna research. He holds a master’s degree in Wildlife Conservation Action and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. Over the past few years, he has conducted research across diverse ecosystems, from the arid plains of western India to high-altitude landscapes, focusing on biodiversity and ecological dynamics. His expertise includes species monitoring, wetland restoration, ecological data analysis, and community-based conservation programs. Utilizing GIS, statistical modelling, and advanced field techniques, he investigates ecological patterns and their implications for conservation. His work also involves assessing the impact of anthropogenic structures on biodiversity, developing conservation action plans, and engaging with local communities to promote sustainable environmental stewardship Currently serving as the Project Coordinator for the Surendranagar Biodiversity Project at Sahjeevan and is actively involved in research and conservation initiatives aimed at supporting regional biodiversity goals.

Shweta Chhatbar has a master's degree in botany. She recently joined Sahjeevan's Biodiversity and Conservation team. Her primary responsibilities include flora-related tasks as well as working with local communities to conserve their biodiversity. Her area of interests include plant taxonomy, ecology, and biodiversity conservation.

She has previously worked with grassroots groups on environmental research, forest rights, and community engagement. At the Centre for Pastoralism (CfP), she was involved in organising the FRA consultation and contributed to the Living Lightly exhibition in Bangalore—an experience that deepened her engagement with pastoral communities and their knowledge systems. She is interested in community-level processes, local governance, and initiatives that support ecological and cultural resilience.

Nehla is the Communications Lead at Sahjeevan, where she writes about land, memory, and ecological wisdom. She has a background in photography and sociology and likes to call herself an environmental storyteller. At Sahjeevan, she found it a legitimate career path. In between shooting off campaigns and reports, she can be found conversing with the office puppy, Chintu, who is the light of her life.

Kheraj has a long career in animal husbandry. He previously worked with the Animal Husbandry Department in health services. He is currently posted at the Dayapar cluster office, working with sheep and goat pastoralists.
